Work description

Workers will be performing job duties related to SOC code 49-3041 Farm Equipment Mechanics and Service Technicians. Job duties will include but not be limited to: Dismantle defective machines, using hand tools. Record details of repairs made and parts used. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, to locate and diagnose malfunctions. Repair bent or torn sheet metal. Clean and lubricate parts before re-installing. Remove and replace damaged or worn parts. Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications. Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists, jack stands, cranes, jacks, blocking supports and other tools. Examine parts for damage or excessive wear; Replace filters and fluids after performing repairs as necessary. Fit bearings to adjust, fix, or overhaul equipment. Thaw and clean dirt, grease, debris, etc from equipment using power-washer, hoses, rags, and other hand tools. This work will include dismantling and reassembling tillage tools, planters, seeders, augers, conveyors, diggers, harvesters, wagons, and other stationary and self-propelled machinery. Perform equipment calibrating and final adjustments for machines as necessary. Must speak and understand English.
