Work description
Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, and storage of crops,. Operate and monitor grain conditioning equipment to ensure efficient and safe conditioning of grain to meet quality standards. Load hoppers to feed machines with products, using forklifts, suction gates, shovels, pitchforks and other equipment. Weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information. Weigh products using electronic scales Guide products to regulate flow through machines monitor and report grain moisture and grades. Produce and provide inventory level reports to the accounting department. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including cleaning conditioning equipment, storage areas, and surrounding facilities. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the team. Communicate with marketing agent regarding the contracts to be filled, dates and amounts to be shipped and maintain records of remaining balances to be shipped. Load semi-trucks with hopper bottom trailers without over or underfilling trailers; drive and deliver grain to market using semi-trucks. Produce and provide shipping reports to the accounting department. Operate fans and other equipment to condition grain and control moisture levels. Assist in the management and preservation of wildlife habitat on the farm during the migration of waterfowl and deer such as: maintaining wire; removing debris; servicing wetlands; controlling weed pressure; inspect and record wildlife population; maintain adequate levels in ponds and wetland reserve program; Perform manual labor necessary to develop, maintain, or protect areas such as forested areas, woodlands, wetlands Must be able to speak and understand English.
