In order to effectively run the operations of this resort, we will need an additional 15 temporary/seasonal cooks our peak season (11/1 - 8/1) to supplement our core cooks. These needs based on the number restaurants and guests to be served daily as well as in-room dining services that be provided to our guests. Also based on the reservation forecast that we project during our peak season. November and the first two weeks of December are a high group season for the resort. Additionally, we have three busy holidays within those two months, which is known to bring a high volume of leisure travel to the beach. February April is the typical Florida high season with winter/spring breaks. May is another projected busy month with busy weekends and group business. June and July, is projected to run 80%-90% occupancy with summer vacations being frequent travel months to the Clearwater Beach area. Starting August, September and October are traditionally slowest months due to the weather conditions and schools back in session. These months known as hurricane season in FL, which will result in a significant drop in reservation forecast and sales. Due to the upcoming peak season of the hotel business, this resort is in need of hiring temporary seasonal employees. Specifically, we are requesting approval to hire 15 seasonal cooks. Our busy season in which we require additional cooks is from November to August. As such, our dates of intended employment are 11/1/2026- 8/1/2027. The resort is open year-round 365 days a year. These dates are for the most part reoccurring and have been consistent with our projections and with the change of season in the area. Our off season is projected to be August through October. We were certified for 11 cooks in 2025. In 2026, we are increasing our H2B cook request to 15 due to a new 180 seat restaurant, Lolitas, that is set to open at the resort in the Fall of 2026. The restaurant will be open daily from 11a-midnight. Due to the lack of local applicants and the additional restaurant, we are requesting an increase of 4 H2B cooks. The West Coast of Florida has seen a large increase in transient visitors during our peak load season in the last few years and this property is the newest and most desired place for many guests to vacation. The geographic location of the resort on the West Coast of Florida is within a high tourist area with people visiting for vacations. This creates a severe labor shortage for unskilled labor in our area. The need for seasonal workers especially cooks exceeds the number of local applicants available. There is difficulty in recruiting and hiring as well as maintaining, adequate staff during this time. Advertisements placed online throughout the year with little or no response.
