Work description

The seasonal agricultural worker will perform duties related to crop and livestock production. Duties will include preparing fields for planting; attaching and operating tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, combines, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery; planting, cultivating, fertilizing, spraying, irrigating, and harvesting crops; maintaining irrigation ditches, pipes, pumps, and pivot irrigation systems; loading and unloading crops, feed, supplies, and materials using conveyors, forklifts, augers, hand trucks, and other equipment; monitoring machinery and performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on agricultural equipment, irrigation systems, vehicles, fences, and farm structures; driving farm trucks to transport crops, livestock, feed, supplies, and equipment; maintaining production and operational records; feeding and watering livestock, monitoring feed and water supplies, and providing basic animal care; examining livestock for signs of illness or injury, administering medications or vaccinations as directed, and arranging veterinary care when necessary; assisting with livestock breeding and births as needed; herding, sorting, and moving livestock between pastures, pens, scales, and trucks; cleaning and maintaining livestock facilities and equipment; and maintaining livestock, crop, equipment, and inventory records. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion, Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
