Pay deductions:
Deductions may be taken for: FICA and Federal Income Tax; repayment of cash advances or loans; repayment of overpayment of wages; meals (if applicable); duly-issued wage garnishments by a court of competent jurisdiction; recoupment for lost or damaged property due to the worker’s gross negligence or intentional misconduct; deductions requested or agreed upon by the worker, if permissible by law; and any other deductions authorized by law. Employer shall not make any deduction or require any reimbursement from an employee for any cash shortage, breakage, or loss of equipment, unless it can be shown that the shortage, breakage, or loss is caused by a dishonest or willful act, or by the gross negligence of the employee. Unless otherwise permitted by law, no deduction will bring the worker’s hourly earnings below the federal or state minimum wage.

Work description

Workers will work with vegetable crops, including onions, lettuce, spinach, and broccoli. Workers must be able to: operate farm machinery/equipment to fertilize soil and cultivate and spray crops; haul and spread fertilizer and other materials; plant, spray, weed, fertilize, water plants; apply pesticides and fertilizers; assist with seeding and cultivation activities, prepare land for agricultural use; operating farming equipment; perform manual agricultural tasks; load agricultural products; and perform any and all other tasks and duties under SOC Code 45-2092. Related duties may be assigned. Work is performed outdoors in highly varied weather conditions. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling is required. Highly repetitive motions to reach crops at ground level and place the crops in appropriate containers are required. Being on one’s feet for long periods of time is required. Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry weight up to 50 pounds is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate hand tools, farm equipment, and crops is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required. Weeding will be by hoe, not by hand, with a long-handled hoe.
