Work description
The worker will perform agricultural equipment operation and winter grain farming activities on a grain farm producing corn, pinto beans, soybeans, and wheat. Duties include operating tractors in support of seasonal farming operations, performing routine maintenance and upkeep of agricultural equipment, inspecting, monitoring, and maintaining grain storage bins, and maintaining grain quality during the winter season. The worker will haul grain from the farm to grain elevators and transport seed and other farm related materials as needed. Additional duties include general farm maintenance, building maintenance, equipment cleaning, and snow removal necessary to maintain safe access to agricultural work areas, farm roads, equipment, and grain storage facilities. The worker will perform incidental care of the employer's horses during the winter months, including feeding horses, cleaning stalls, and maintaining the barn while horses are housed indoors because of cold weather. The worker will perform day to day farming operations throughout the contract period. The position requires previous experience operating agricultural equipment and performing general farm duties. Work is performed outdoors and indoors under varying weather conditions typical of winter agricultural operations and may vary based on weather, crop conditions, and operational demands. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
