Work description
Workers will grade and sort onions by size, color, feel, and aesthetic appearance; discard inferior or defective products and foreign matter; package product for shipment or further processing (including filling, lifting, and carrying boxes or bags of product); organize and store product; weigh product; load, unload, and transport harvested onions within and between employer-operated agricultural facilities and perform other duties and tasks under SOC Code 45-2041. Related duties may be assigned. Work is performed in and around a packing facility. Being on one’s feet for long time periods is required. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds is required. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, turning, pushing, and/or pulling may be required. Dexterity to manipulate agricultural products is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required.
