Work description

Feeding is seasonal and only occurs during the winter months. Calving is also seasonal and takes place during the late winter and early spring months. Employees will be responsible for feeding round bales to cattle during the winter feeding season and assisting with calving during the late winter and early spring. Job duties include feeding and watering livestock; monitoring feed and water supplies; mixing feed, additives, and medications in prescribed portions; ordering and distributing feed using trucks, tractors, or other equipment; examining animals to detect illness, injury, disease, or abnormal weight gain; assisting with animal reproduction, including breeding, artificial insemination, and calving; and maintaining growth, feeding, production, and cost records, as well as operational records and inventories of materials, equipment, and products. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
