DEDUCTIONS. Employer makes all deductions required by law (e.g., FICA, federal/state tax withholdings, court-ordered child support, etc.). Workers must pre-authorize voluntary deductions, which may include repayment of wage advances and/or loans, health insurance premiums, retirement plan contributions, and/or third-party payments or wage assignments for products or services furnished for the worker’s benefit or convenience. All deductions comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and applicable state law. Employer may deduct reasonable repair costs if the worker is found to be responsible for damage to housing beyond normal wear and tear. Employer may charge worker for reasonable cost of damages to property and/or replacement of tools and/or equipment if such damage is found to have been the result of worker's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

Work description

Crops/Commodities: Sweet Corn. Primary duties (performed the majority of workdays): McNeill Labor Management attests and confirms that no workers will be charged any fee to obtain a job with the company. The job requires a minimum of two months of agricultural experience. In order to perform this kind of work must be able to work outside for at least seven - 7 hours a day in all kinds of weather and be in possession of the requisite strength and endurance, working quickly and skillfully with their hands. Corn Harvesting: Workers may work on the harvester equipment where workers follow behind harvesting corn and putting them on a conveyor belt that takes the harvested corn to be packed in a RPC that holds 48 ears of corn. The harvested corn is placed into the RPC. Once 48 ears are collected, the box is closed and put on a conveyor belt that takes is to the hauling truck following the harvester. Workers may walk behind the harvesting equipment and pick the ripe corn ensuring that all mature corn is picked from each stalk. Tractor will be used to move husk trash on property. Grader: Grader will support the production process with labor as needed in the sorting area. [Follow oral or written instructions]. Sort out all nonconforming material, i.e., husks/stalks, damaged/moldy products, rogues and off-types, inert material (weeks & refuse). Sort out all tightly husked material to be conveyed back to the husking beds and reworked. Work in conjunction with other sorting personnel with kernel clean in the sorting area as needed. Sorters are responsible for keeping the work area clean and orderly. While performing reach motion with arms and hands, twisting at the waist, stoop, talk and hear - while performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to continuous elevated noise levels and moving conveyors. Dumpers: Workers will dump the filled RPCs onto the conveyor belts. Field Task: Weeding, taking, leaf sampling, gene checks, staking, picking up trash, and stocking harvest supplies. All employees must follow all quality control and safety measures while using personal protective equipment. The duties and responsibilities of workers may be revised verbally and/or in writing, as needed by the location manager and/or field supervisor. Other Requirements: Workers seeking employment under this job order must be available for the entire period requested by the employer. Workers may transport fellow workers to and from housing unit to worksites and errands. The employer retains the right to discharge any unqualified worker, malingerer, or recalcitrant worker who is physically able to complete the work but does not demonstrate a willingness to perform the work necessary for the employer to grow a premium quality product, or for any other lawful reason. Sanitation Requirements: For food and general safety purposes. All workers will be required and expected to always follow common sanitary practices. This is particularly critical when working on crops for human consumption. Employees are required to cleanse their hands by washing them thoroughly with soap and water after using the bathroom and before entering the fields. All workers must report all injuries and illnesses to their employer. As well as any communicable diseases such as but not limited to diarrhea, or any other infectious disease or illness. Workers shall report immediately any cuts or abrasions that cause open bleeding. No tobacco, food, gum, candy, drink (other than water), or medication is allowed while working in the field. No jewelry. Watches. Or fingernails longer than 1/8' are allowed. No open-toe shoes or sandals are permitted. Glass bottles, drinking glasses, or any item made from glass are prohibited in the field. Improper hygiene will not be tolerated. Throw the used toilet tissue used in the bathroom into the toilet every time, then flush the toilet. Job opportunity is Skill Level I.
